Which parts of Chilliwack do you clean?

The largest residential area in the city and most of our recurring work. A mix of detached homes and townhouses, close to services, and the neighbourhoods where a two week cycle with the same cleaner is the usual arrangement.

Newer stock, more glass, and on Promontory a hillside that means steep driveways in winter. Newer houses here are also where most of our post-construction and first-occupancy work sits.

Flat acreages and farming country. Private wells are common, so hardness is a per-property question, and working mudrooms and long driveways make these quotes property-based rather than bedroom-based.

Is Chilliwack water hard or soft?
The honest answer is that we could not find a published number, so this section tells you what we do about that.
Chilliwack's drinking water is groundwater. The city states that the Sardis-Vedder Aquifer supplies essentially all of it, that the aquifer produces excellent quality water, and that samples are analysed regularly for physical characteristics including hardness (City of Chilliwack, drinking water quality). What we could not find is the hardness figure itself. So we are not going to print one.
Here is what we can tell you, because it is published. The Abbotsford-Mission wells immediately west of here test between 72 and 218 mg/L, untreated for hardness. Metro Vancouver water, which supplies Surrey and Maple Ridge, runs around 3 to 4 mg/L. Chilliwack sits between those two systems and draws from a different source again, so assuming it behaves like either one would be a guess.

Citric acid is on our list of the plant-based products we use for exactly this reason, and it stays in the van when it is not needed. It also never goes on natural stone or unsealed grout.
What does wood smoke do to a Chilliwack house?
The FVRD's own Air Quality Management Plan attributes 27 per cent of regional PM2.5 emissions to intentional wood burning, meaning woodstoves, fireplaces, land clearing and yard waste, and another 49 per cent to commercial, industrial and agricultural operations. It also reports asthma and COPD rates in FVRD municipalities, Chilliwack among them, above the BC average. One of the district's six air monitoring stations is in this city, which is not an accident.
It is not historical either. An orange air quality warning was issued for parts of the Fraser Valley in August 2026, with a Chilliwack reading reported at 6.6 times the World Health Organization's annual PM2.5 guideline.
What that changes on a job is method, not marketing. Fine ash and fine particulate stay airborne, land on soft furnishings and high surfaces, and come straight back up if you dry-dust them. So we vacuum with HEPA filtration, work top down, and damp-wipe. And in a house where somebody is already breathing woodsmoke six months a year, adding a scented aerosol is the last thing anyone needs, which is why fragrance-free is our default rather than an option.
Do you do holiday rental turnovers at the lake?
Yes, and the season is short enough that scheduling matters more than anything else on this page.
Chilliwack is the one city in our area where short-term rental turnover is a genuine season rather than a trickle. Cultus Lake and the Harrison corridor fill up from late spring, and a Saturday in July means a row of cabins all checking out at 11 and checking in at 4. That is a logistics job as much as a cleaning job: fixed windows, linen handling, a photo report sent before the next guest arrives, and a spare set of everything in the van because there is no time to go back for it.
The part hosts tend to underrate is smell. Strong cleaning-product scent shows up in guest reviews as a complaint, not as evidence of a clean unit, and guests with asthma or scent sensitivity notice it immediately. We work fragrance-free by default, so a lake cabin smells of nothing at four o'clock, which is the correct smell for a room somebody is about to sleep in.

For context, a Chilliwack company publishes residential work at $50 an hour with a two hour minimum per cleaner, and there are rates advertised in this city well below that. We are deliberately not at the bottom. What the bottom usually leaves out is WorkSafeBC coverage, liability insurance and certified products, and the first of those three is the one that can land on you rather than on the cleaner if someone is hurt in your house.

Yes, more than people expect. Fine ash is not like household dust: it is light, it stays airborne longer, and it settles on soft furnishings and high horizontal surfaces rather than sitting on the floor. We vacuum with HEPA filtration first, work top down, and damp-wipe rather than dry-dust, because a dry cloth just puts it back in the air. We also do not spray anything scented in a house that already has combustion products in it.

Is anyone else in Chilliwack doing certified natural cleaning?
Not that we could find. AspenClean is the only BC cleaner we know of holding real third-party certification, and its published service area covers Metro Vancouver and does not extend to Chilliwack, Abbotsford or Mission. Several companies here describe themselves as eco-friendly or non-toxic. None of the ones we checked names a certification, and most name no product either.
